Plant tour A: Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel Co.
As the new site of Shougang Group, and only three hours driving from Beijing, Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. is scheduled into fully operation in 2010, which is located on Caofeidian Island, Hebei Province. The initial phase of this plant will annually yield 9 million tons of rolled steel products with two 5500m3 blast furnaces, two 300t converters, one 2250mm and one 1580mm hot continuous rolling mill, one 1700mm and one 1550mm pickling cold rolling mill. The company can not only produce a wide range of high-performance steel sheet for oil pipelines, ships, cars, and appliances , but also demonstrates a promising recycling economy processing.
Plant tour B: Bayuquan Iron & Steel Base of Angang
The up-to-date Bayuquan Iron & Steel Base, 650 kilometers far from Beijing and covering an area of 8.3 square kilometers at Yingkou Port, has now turned to be another new core of Angang Group. This integrated steel base manufactures 5Mt/a value-added steel flat products for the shipbuilding, container, industrial machinery, construction, and oil and gas industries. The main facilities include two 3800m3 blast furnaces, three 250t converters, two slab continuous casters, one 5500mm heavy plate mill, one 1580mm hot strip mill, and one 1450mm cold strip mill in its plan. These world-class equipments, as well as Angang’s advanced processing technology, are increasingly strengthening Angang’s steelmaking leadership at home and abroad.
